Skopje will host most of the festival’s competitions, totalling 11 sports. Skopje will be used to host celebrations for opening and closing ceremonies, as well as other side events. As the capital and cultural heart of North Macedonia, the city offers a vibrant backdrop that blends ancient history with modern energy, creating a unique atmosphere for athletes and visitors alike.
Kumanovo will host three sports during the festival: girls’ basketball, boys’ basketball, road cycling, and mountain biking. As one of North Macedonia’s largest cities, Kumanovo offers excellent sports infrastructure and a strong sporting tradition, making it an ideal setting for both dynamic team competitions and thrilling outdoor races.
Osijek, the fourth largest city in Croatia, will host the Artistic Gymnastics competitions at the modern Gradski Vrt competition hall. With its well-established sports infrastructure and experience in hosting international events, Osijek provides an excellent setting for showcasing gymnastics at the highest level.

Athletics

National Stadium Todor Proeski

Tose Proeski National Arena (formerly Filip II Arena) is North Macedonia’s largest and most prominent stadium, located in Skopje. Home to the national football team, FC Vardar, and FC Rabotnichki, it hosts international matches, European games, athletics events, and major concerts. Originally opened in 1947, the arena underwent significant renovations between 2008 and 2013, including new stands and an athletics track. It gained international recognition when it hosted the 2017 UEFA Super Cup.

Badminton

Elementary School Nevena Georgieva – Dunja

The Nezavisna Makedonija Sports Hall, located within the Nevena Georgieva Dunja Elementary School in the Češma neighborhood of Kisela Voda, will host the badminton competition at EYOF 2025. Home to basketball club Angeli, the hall offers a functional and focused setting for competition, featuring six rows of bench-style bleachers on one side for spectators.

Its community-rooted atmosphere will provide a unique and energetic backdrop for this fast-paced sport.

East Gate Mall – Belasitsa 2, Skopje

One of the most exciting urban sports deserves an equally dynamic setting—and at EYOF 2025, that venue is East Gate Mall. Opened in 2021, this modern shopping and entertainment hub is the largest mall in North Macedonia and the third largest in the Balkans. Its vibrant, urban atmosphere makes it the perfect stage for breaking, bringing the sport right into the heart of the city’s contemporary culture.

Sport Hall Kumanovo – Boys

Sports Hall Kumanovo is the largest indoor sports venue in the city of Kumanovo, North Macedonia, with a seating capacity of 6,500. Built in 1980, it has long served as a key location for sporting events, regularly hosting basketball, futsal, handball, volleyball, and boxing competitions. Located in a sports and recreational zone along the Kumanovka River, the hall is surrounded by open fields, sports pitches, and lush greenery. Its distinctive geometric and futuristic architecture stands out in the landscape, serving as a striking monument to sport.

High School Pero Nakov – Girls

High School Pero Nakov, the venue for the women’s basketball competition at EYOF 2025, is situated next to Kumanovo’s major sports facilities – including the Sports Hall Kumanovo, swimming pool, tennis courts, and football pitches – just off Oktomvriska Revolucija Boulevard. The venue is no stranger to basketball, having previously hosted international senior club matches.

Canoe Slalom

Sport Center Matka – Matka, Skopje

Matka Canyon is one of the most breathtaking natural landmarks in the Skopje region and will serve as the venue for the canoe slalom event on the Treska River at EYOF 2025. Having successfully hosted the Wildwater Canoeing European Championship in 2023, Matka has proven its ability to combine spectacular natural scenery with the demands of a world-class sporting event.

Road Cycling

Kumanovo

During the EYOF, Kumanovo will live and breathe cycling, with the road race starting and finishing in the heart of the city—on Square Nova Jugoslavija. The route winds through the city center, crosses the Kumanovka River, and heads out to the village of Pelince before returning to Kumanovo, where riders will complete the 60.8-kilometer course in front of spectators lining the finishing straight. The time trial event will take athletes through the scenic valley north of the city, offering a different but equally demanding challenge.

Kumanovo has proven to be a reliable host of Olympic cross-country mountain biking, having organized UCI-sanctioned events in the past. The varied terrain on the southern outskirts of the city will now test the skill and endurance of EYOF’s mountain bikers as they compete on its demanding trails.

Sport Center Kale – Boys

Situated beside Skopje’s historic fortress, SRC Kale takes its name from the Macedonian word kale, meaning “fortress citadel.” With a seating capacity of 2,250, this versatile indoor arena is one of the city’s most iconic sports venues. Known for its electric atmosphere and loyal home crowds, it has earned the nickname “the Macedonian handball fortress.” Over the years, SRC Kale has welcomed numerous international competitions, including several youth championships, solidifying its reputation on the European sporting stage.

Jane Sandanski Sports Center is a modern, multifunctional complex that includes a large arena, rebuilt in 2014 to meet international standards for hosting basketball and handball competitions. The venue has hosted numerous high-level events and is home to several top Macedonian clubs. At EYOF 2025, the girls’ handball matches will take place in the Small Sports Hall within the complex—a purpose-built facility for handball and basketball, offering seating for up to 1,000 spectators.

Sport Center Jane Sandanski – Asnom Blvd 1000, Skopje 1000

Judo at EYOF 2025 will be staged in the main hall of Jane Sandanski Sports Center—Skopje’s flagship indoor arena. With a capacity of 6,500 and state-of-the-art facilities, the venue offers an ideal stage for high-level competition. Originally rebuilt a decade ago, the arena has become a central hub for major sporting events in North Macedonia. During the festival, it will transform into a dedicated judo arena, providing young athletes with a professional and inspiring setting to showcase their skill and determination.

Olympic Swimming Pool “Centar” is the largest and most advanced swimming facility in North Macedonia and will host the EYOF 2025 swimming competitions for both boys and girls. The pool features 24/7 electronic filtration and a long-standing tradition in swimming. It offers a safe and professional setting for Europe’s rising talents.

Partizan Sports Hall will serve as the venue for the table tennis and shooting competitions at EYOF 2025. Located in the Karpoš district of Skopje, this historic sports hall has been transformed into a modern facility in 2023, offering a professional setting for top-level youth competition. With its renewed infrastructure and versatile layout, the hall is now fully equipped to host two of the most technically demanding disciplines of the festival, welcoming Europe’s most talented young athletes in a space that blends tradition with modernity.

Faculty for physical education and sports – Dimche Mirchev 3, Skopje

The Faculty of Physical Education, Sport and Health is a higher educational institution at the University “Ss. Cyril and Methodius.” The faculty has four gyms which cover an area of 1,500 square meters and have a seating capacity of 500. They equipped with the latest sports equipment and can be used for a variety of sports. It will serve as the taekwondo venue at EYOF.

Arena Boris Trajkovski – Boulevard 8-mi Septemvri 13, Skopje 1000

The Boris Trajkovski Sports Center, located in Skopje’s Karpoš Municipality, is North Macedonia’s premier indoor sports and events venue. Named in honor of the late President Boris Trajkovski, the arena opened its doors in May 2008 and has since become a central hub for both national and international events.

Gradski Vrt competition hall Osijek – UI. Kneza Trpimira 23, Osijek, Croatia

Gradski vrt Hall is a multi-purpose indoor sports and events complex in Osijek, Croatia, designed for a wide range of athletic, cultural, and entertainment activities. The venue features seven main halls, including a large arena with a capacity of over 3,500. Primarily used for handball and basketball, it has also hosted major events such as the 2009 World Men’s Handball Championship and the 2017 Davis Cup tie between Croatia and Spain. Its flexible design makes it suitable for concerts, exhibitions, fashion shows, fairs, congresses, and festivals … and the European Youth Olympic Festival!
