As the Sports Coordinator, my task is to ensure that all sports activities during the festival are organized according to the highest standards. As we approach the festival, which will take place at the end of July this year, the level of engagement is increasing, but so is the motivation. This involves close collaboration with all sports federations in North Macedonia, organizing the competitions, coordinating the venues, and providing technical support. We are preparing detailed operational plans for each sport, adhering to the regulations of international sports federations. Additionally, we maintain ongoing communication with foreign delegations to understand their needs and expectations. This role is not just about organization; it is also an opportunity to build networks and represent North Macedonia as a serious and professional host for international sports events.

You work with all sports federations in the country. How would you assess the level of collaboration, and what is being done to ensure the success of the festival?

Collaboration with the sports federations is crucial, and I must emphasize that we have witnessed tremendous dedication and enthusiasm from their side so far. However, this collaboration is a complex process since each federation has its own specifics and requirements. We maintain regular communication through meetings, training sessions, and joint analyses. Our goal is to provide them with the support and resources needed to prepare their respective sports in the best way possible. Additionally, we strive to strengthen internal coordination among the federations, which will be vital for the future development of Macedonian sports.

What are your expectations for the participants and athletes taking part in EYOF 2025? How
will this experience help young talents?

We expect the participants to feel the magic of sports and the Olympic spirit. For many, this will be their first experience at such a significant international event, which will be a pivotal moment in their careers. The festival will give them the opportunity to compete with top athletes from across Europe, gain new experiences, and build connections that can support their future development. Additionally, for Macedonian athletes, this is a chance to compete on home ground in front of their own audience, which is a unique feeling that can inspire them to deliver their best performances.

What challenges do you face in preparing the infrastructure and sports facilities?

Infrastructure is one of the biggest challenges for such an event, as we need to ensure that all venues meet international standards. Some facilities require renovation, while others need to be adapted for the specific needs of the sports. We are working with teams of engineers, architects, and sports experts to complete everything on time and with high quality. Additionally, we are focusing on logistical aspects such as accessibility for athletes and spectators, transportation, and all other details that contribute to the overall experience of the event.

How will this event impact the future development of sports in North Macedonia?

Our sports system faces numerous daily challenges, but EYOF 2025 has the potential to transform Macedonian sports. EYOF is significant for elevating the profile of all sports featured at the festival, introducing young athletes to the Olympic stage, and advancing collaboration between federations and the Olympic Committee. I hope we will prove ourselves as excellent organizers, sports professionals, and athletes, earning recognition for the future. In the presence of numerous citizens, the official mascot of the festival, Shiny, was also unveiled. The mascot was chosen by the public through an online voting process that concluded yesterday.

The event was attended by the Mayor of Kumanovo, Maksim Dimitrievski, as well as representatives from the EYOF 2025 organization. · Shiny – the Sun: Now the official mascot of EYOF 2025, Shiny was inspired by the sun symbol on the North Macedonian flag. Representing warmth, unity, and the spirit of friendship, Shiny symbolises the shared bonds formed through sports. As a bright and welcoming figure, Shiny is perfectly suited to represent EYOF’s core values of friendship, respect, and sportsmanship, and will serve as a beacon of optimism and joy throughout the festival.
